Protect a note or a file up to 10 MB with a passphrase you control. Everything happens in your browser — there is no upload, account, or recovery key.
No upload, no account, no recovery key — encryption never leaves this tab.
Turn private text or a small file into an unreadable package before it is stored or sent through a service you do not fully control. The recipient can recover it only with the same passphrase.
Encrypt text, copy the resulting package into an email or chat, then send the passphrase through a separate channel — for example, a phone call or a different messaging app.
Encrypt a note or file before placing the package in a notes app, email draft, or cloud folder. Keep the passphrase in your password manager, not beside the package.
Important: remember your passphrase. It is not an account passkey, and no one — including Simple Money Tracker — can reset it or recover the encrypted package.
Uses SMT’s zero-knowledge core: PBKDF2-SHA-256 (600,000 iterations) derives a KEK, which wraps a random AES-256-GCM DEK. The DEK encrypts your text or file.
The page has no API call for your text, file, or passphrase.
File name, MIME type, and content are inside the AES-GCM encrypted payload.
Keep it separately. SMT cannot reset or recover a public package without it.
