Real-Time Awareness with Push Notifications
The highlight of the month is the launch of our Real-Time Push Notification system (v2.11.0). Powered by Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), Simple Money Tracker can now send proactive alerts directly to your device.
Whether it's an upcoming debt payment, a lending due date, or a goal you're close to reaching, you'll now receive instant notifications even when the browser is closed. We've also added a 'ringing' animation to the in-app notification bell to ensure you never miss an important update while using the app.
The Power of Automation: Emails and Reports
Behind the scenes, we've completely overhauled our automation engine. By migrating to Cloud Functions v2 and implementing robust, timezone-aware logic, we've ensured that every notification arrives at exactly the right time for you.
Our new automated email system now handles subscription reminders and post-expiry notifications seamlessly. For our Pro users, we've also introduced automated Monthly Financial Reports—a comprehensive overview of your spending habits delivered straight to your inbox at the end of every month.
A Major Leap in UI/UX Design
September wasn't just about functionality; it was a massive month for design. Version 2.5.0 introduced our 'Major UI/UX Overhaul,' featuring holographic card styles and animated icon toolbars that give the app a premium, futuristic feel.
We also completely redesigned our mobile experience. Shifting from complex tables to intuitive card-based layouts for Groups, Expenses, Debts, and more has made managing your money on the go faster and more enjoyable than ever before.
Refining the Details
We believe the best experiences are built on small details. This month we added a quick-setting dropdown to the status bar (allowing for instant theme and font changes), expanded our category icons to include a full emoji set, and implemented icon-only sidebars for better navigation speed.
